Moving to somewhere new can feel daunting, especially when you don't know anyone yet!
We've put together a list of family activities and facilities here on Skye to help new families meet people :)
Matheson Place Play Park
Portree
The Matheson Place Play Park group formed in 2021 with a vision to create a brand-new accessible play park facility in a derelict site at Matheson Place, Portree.
Residents Tiffany Maberley, Sarah Nisbit and Fiona Stoddart formed a committee under the umbrella of The Portree & Braes Community Trust and with support from The Highland Council, as well as local residents, business and organisations, an incredible £120,000 was raised in just over 12 months. The playpark is now up and running and is much enjoyed by local families.

Third Ridge climbing centre offers a range of options to get you climbing.

Kids Club
Our new weekly kids club is for primary children aged 5-12. During these sessions we’ll teach the basics; safety, belaying, movement and technique, all with an emphasis on having fun and learning through doing.
These sessions will be every Saturday 11.00am - 1.30pm (5-7 years old) and 2.00pm - 3:30pm (8-12 years old).
Each session will cost £10 (non-members) or included with our monthly individual or family membership.
