Homefarm is currently recruiting Social Care Assistants and staff to help build their team.
This week we’ve been chatting to some of the staff who work at Homefarm and they've been speaking about what it's like to work as part of the team at Homefarm.
Wendy, a Senior Care Assistant tells us "I've worked here at Homefarm for 14 years. I enjoy looking after people and helping people. It's a really rewarding job - I enjoy the satisfaction you get from knowing you've made someone comfortable and cosy. I came into the role having never worked in care before, I thought I'll give it a try, I had no idea about what the job was when I started, now I've trained up through Svq 2 and then SVQ 3 and now I'm a senior care assistant. I would say to someone thinking about working here, give it a try.. our team is relaxed, we all get on very well. The residents pick up on that, we're all at ease and everyone is approachable."
Wendy Added "Everyone who works here really cares, there are some things you can learn in training, but our team really cares."
Elizabeth, A Care worker, who's worked as part of the Homefarm team for 10 years tells us "I enjoy the personal connection with the residents, I enjoy meeting their needs, they become part of your family and you there's" She encourages others to "Come along and see how rewarding it can be to look after someone else. We have a good, supportive team here, we look after each other, we have great fun. We are great at mentoring people, so if you are worried or nervous don't worry, we'll support anyone to join our team and build their confidence."
Mila, Senior care Assistant, has worked at Homefarm for 7 years ~ "I treat the residents like my second family, I love working here with the residents and find the role very rewarding. Our residents are lovely and we are looking for more people to join our team.”
Training is available and the team are happy to support applicants new to a career in care. This is an exciting opportunity to join the NHS Highland care team working.
